2012年にフランス事業の責任者としてブリストル マイヤーズ スクイブに入社。フランスではBMS子会社のUPSA、BMSがん免疫療法研究財団およびフランス製薬工業協会（LEEM）がん委員会の代表を兼務。2017年11月に現職就任。BMS入社前はダノンの医療栄養食品部門であるニュートリシアのフランスおよび北アフリカ事業部門長を務めた。アクゾノーベル社でキャリアをスタートし、藤沢薬品工業およびスミスクライン・ビーチャムでも要職を歴任。リヨン大学獣医学博士号、マンチェスタービジネススクール経営学修士号を取得。

Jean-Christophe Barland joined Bristol Myers Squibb in 2012 as General Manager of BMS France. While in France, he also served as President of UPSA Worldwide, as President of the BMS Foundation for Immuno-Oncology Research, and as President of the Cancer Committee of LEEM. He assumed his current role in November 2017. Prior to joining BMS, he led the French and North African operations of Nutricia, the medical nutrition division of Danone. He began his career at Akzo Nobel, and also worked for Fujisawa Pharmaceutical and SmithKline Beecham in senior executive roles. He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Lyon, and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
